MAISTO BANKAS: Food Cemetery

PROBLEM: In Lithuania, we all know Food Bank (Maisto bankas) from short activations in supermarkets, where customers are encouraged to buy necessary foods for those in need. However, the primary and unseen work that Food Bank does is fighting food waste: they collect good products from supermarkets, remake them and deliver them to those in need.

 

MISSION: Invite as many people as possible to donate their income taxes to Food Bank, while spreading the message about their work specifics.

 

SOLUTION: To emphasize the seriousness of the matter, a cemetery for wasted food was created. The amount of food waste was converted to statistics and real numbers. And those statistics are now found on tombstones for food.
